Terms of Use
Last updated May 31, 2026
These terms cover buying and using Greendot, a small macOS menu bar app sold by an independent developer. They're written to be readable. By buying or using Greendot, you agree to them.
The deal
Greendot is a one-time purchase of $5. Pay once and the version you download is yours to use on the Macs you own or control. There's no subscription and no recurring charge.
Your license
When you buy Greendot, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app. You may not resell it, redistribute the binary, rent it out, or claim it as your own work. The app itself, its name, and its design remain the property of the developer.
What Greendot does (and doesn't promise)
Greendot keeps your computer registering as "active" by performing tiny, periodic input nudges, and it backs off when it detects you're on a call. Different chat and presence systems behave differently and change over time, so we can't guarantee that any particular service will always show you as available. Greendot is provided as a best-effort utility, not a guarantee of any specific status in any third-party app.
Acceptable use
You're responsible for how you use Greendot, including complying with your employer's policies and any rules of the services you use it alongside. Don't use Greendot to break the law or to deceive in ways that cause harm. You use it at your own discretion and risk.
Refunds
It's $5 and you can try it for yourself. If Greendot genuinely doesn't work for you, email pepegombos@gmail.com within 30 days of purchase and we'll sort out a refund. We'd rather you be happy than hold onto five dollars.
Updates and availability
We may release updates from time to time, but we don't promise any specific update schedule, new features, or that the app will remain available for sale indefinitely. A purchased copy keeps working on supported versions of macOS regardless.
No warranty
Greendot is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Greendot. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; when we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Greendot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
